Lake Jackson, TX (2005)
Project Description LEARN MORE

Designed for the City of Lake Jackson, TX, and required to overcome substantial environmental challenges to gain approval.  The course was designed as, and remains and Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Course.

A 200 acre core course on a fully wooded site, The Wilderness lives up to its name, and has won numerous awards, such as being a Top 50 course on Golf Advisor, Top 25 Public Course in Texas by Dallas Morning News, and other accolades.

The course receives heavy play, designed on a flat site, drainage was important, and as Hurricane Harvey recently showed, pays off.  The Wilderness sits on the Buffalo Bayou that the Army Corps of Engineers purposely flooded to protect upstream areas.  The course was re-opened in remarkably short time, with the range opened within a month.
