Best Pregame Warmups

No matter what sport or physically demanding activity you may be about to engage in, a proper warm-up is imperative to achieving your highest level of performance. When you go to a professional sporting event, you will always see the athletes going through a pre-game warm-up designed to get their bodies loose and ready to play at their best. Golf is the same way. The professional golfers engage in a warm-up to get ready for their first tee. This is something lots of “for fun,” players miss out on and probably do not even consider a factor into their overall game.
Here are some easy tips, to get your body ready for golf:
-Don’t Rush Yourself: Show up to the course 30 minutes earlier than when you are projecting to hit the green. This gives you enough time to gather any supplies you may need from the course’s shop, evaluate that you have brought everything you need to be prepared, use the restroom, switch shoes, etc. No one likes to feel rushed and you certainly do not want to start off your time at the course feeling unorganized and in a hurry. Collect yourself, stay zen and get yourself fully prepared for a day of fun and leisure.
-Get To Know The Green: Spend some time watching the way and direction your ball rolls when you set a marker at various distances away. This allows you to understand the speed of the greens and the angles of the course. This is better than just diving right in because each course is different and presents its own set of unique challenges and characteristics.
-Measure The Firmness: Again, all courses are different. Knocking around a few short distance balls, that do not affect your score, ahead of time will give you an excellent chance to get to know this course. The firmness of the course determines how much roll the ball will have when hit.
Stretching, Of Course: Stretching is a great way to loosen your body up so that you can really nail those long strokes. Not only does stretching help you to play your best game, it also can help prevent injury from sudden activity.
