Golf Prep Checklist
More goes into preparing for a game of golf than just throwing on your favorite polo and grabbing your clubs. Getting all the way to the course just to realize you left essential equipment behind can be very frustrating and expensive. Here is a list of the items you need and the things you should be prepared for before golfing!
-Golf Clubs: You are not going to get very far into a game of golf without these
-Head Covers: Golf club head covers were made to protect the heads and shafts of your clubs from the damage that can occur when they jostle around in your bag. For graphite-shafted woods, use head covers with a long sock to protect the shafts.
-Comfortable Golf Shoes: You are going to be walking and standing around in these the whole day, make sure you are comfy!
-Extra Shoe Spikes: Shoe spikes are necessary for golfers because they ensure their feet will not slip and slide when they swing. Shoe spikes are especially important when it comes to wet or challenging lies.
-Golf balls and tees: While these are normally readily available for purchase at the course you are playing at, save yourself the time, money and hassle by making sure you remember to pack them.
-Golf Gloves: Golf gloves improve the player’s grip. Gloves are especially helpful in hot weather as they create a barrier between moist skin and a slippery club.
-Divot Tool: A golf divot tool is used to repair a divot in the ground and can be very helpful while playing.
-Sun Protection: Playing out in the sun can wear you down quickly and can even be dangerous if you are not prepared. It is recommended to wear sunscreen with a high SPF, sunglasses and a a hat to protect your face from the sun.
-Water: STAY HYDRATED! It’s easy to forget before you are out on the course how hot and thirsty being outside in the sun can make you. Plan ahead and bring multiple bottles of water or sports drinks.
