Getting recognition for superior golf course design is nothing new to Jeffrey D. Brauer. Most recently, the online publication, “Explore Minnesota Golf” has spotlighted not one, but 3 of Jeffrey D. Brauer’s designs as the top three golf courses in the state. These courses are noted as being three of the toughest courses in Northern Minnesota. Each course is known for its unique terrain and design, while being located close enough to play all three.
“In addition to their proximity, the trio of golf tracks share one distinct feature – all three courses were designed by famed Arlington, Texas, golf course architect Jeffrey Brauer. Brauer has earned recognition and awards for all three.” mentions the article in Explore Minnesota Golf.
The Wilderness at Fortune Bay
Recently this golf course earned the 2nd place title on the Golf Digest list of Top 40 Casino Courses in the country. The Wilderness has been designed to showcase the gorgeous location. Explore Minnesota Golf says to be sure to, “Bring your “A+” game when you come to the Wilderness and sharpen up your short game and putter because there is a premium in placement on the tiered greens.”
Giants Ridge – The Quarry
Another course not new to recognition, Golf Digest Magazine has ranked The Quarry at Giants Ridge, the 16th best public golf course in the United States. Explore Minnesota Golf says, “The Quarry is a Brauer masterpiece with its routing reclaimed from a rugged former quarry. Immense fairways lead to large flash bunkers rimmed by fescue that protects the big undulating greens. Elevated tees provide memorable views of the scarred and beautiful landscape.”
Giants Ridge – The Legend
This course has been ranked 16th in the state for public and private courses.
Explore Minnesota Golf states, “The Legend, which is the original course at Giants Ridge, is a feast for the senses: woods, water, and sand. One bunker is even shaped in the form of a giant footprint!”
