Brauer and group tout Tee it Forward agenda to ASGCA members
Acclaimed golf course architect Jeffrey D. Brauer of GolfScapes. Inc. teamed with Barney Adams and Arthur Little to make a presentation at the ASGCA annual meeting in Chattanooga, TN in April 2012. Barney Adams is the national spokesperson for the PGA initiative called Tee It Forward, while Brauer and Little have been promoting shorter courses for average players since the beginning of the decade.
The panel described how carefully designing and remodeling courses based on the actual golf games of real golfers can make golf more fun, increase play and improve profits.
Little stated that his course improved its bottom line by over $200,000 after shortening his course. Adams promoted Tee It Forward, using similar theories, and Brauer presented some case studies, including Firekeeper and La Costa, along with some ideas on overcoming resistance and implementing the ideas.
